Exeter boys and girls crew will be competing in the world’s largest regatta when they head to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the 54th annual Head of the Charles Regatta this Sunday, October 21.

Big Red has been training all fall and will send two eights and two fours to compete in the Youth 4 and Youth 8 events.

“We are really excited to have two eights and two fours racing this year,” said girls head coach Sally Morris, speaking on behalf of both programs. “The crews have learned a lot this fall and they have trained hard to be selected to make one of these two boats. Thanks to all their teammates who trained hard with them, pushing them to be even faster, these four boats look smooth and united! Their spirits are quite high as we prepare for the weekend. It is an honor to race in the international event, and we are grateful for the opportunity.”

The Cambridge area will be buzzing all weekend as folks from around the world pack the city to watch the regatta. It is recommended that spectators rely on public transportation for access to the races. Information on getting around, parking, and viewing areas can be found on the Head of the Charles website.

The Exeter crews will spend their morning close to the trailer parking area, which will be towards the finish line at the Eliot Bridge on Soldiers Field Road.
