Visiting Scholars

The Visiting Scholars Program was established in 2011 with the support of the Behr Fund. Through this program, the Department of Classical Languages endeavors to invite at least two classical scholars every year, with the goal of exposing Exeter students to college-level research in such fields as philology, linguistics, papyrology, history and archaeology. The average length of stay has become one week, during which time the visiting scholar teaches four lunch seminars focused on a single theme and delivers one lecture open to the public.
