Biography

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Lilly attended the University of New Hampshire where she was a four-year gymnast, captaining the team in her senior year. She received her M.D. from Drexel University School of Medicine. During her fourth year, Dr. Lilly was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Society, an honor given to students based on scholastic achievement, professionalism, leadership, community service and research. Following medical school, Dr. Lilly attended Franklin Square’s primary care residency program. Dr. Lilly served as chief resident and received the Thomas M. Holcomb Award for Pediatric Excellence.

From 2007 to 2018, Dr. Lilly was in private practice at Appledore Family Medicine in Newington and Durham, New Hampshire. Since 2016, she also served as the medical director of Appledore Medical Group, a group of 40 providers in eight different locations. Also during this time, Dr. Lilly was a physician for the University of New Hampshire Athletics program working with athletes of various sports with acute and long-term medical issues. Since 2010, Dr. Lilly served as the school physician of the Oyster River Cooperative School District, consulting with the school nurses on acute issues and establishing various school protocols.

Dr. Lilly is a founding member of HealthcareGIVES, a giving circle of medical providers who support local nonprofits. She was a board member at Growing Places Early Childcare Center from 2009 to 2015. She has volunteered at Camp Hole in the Wall and completed two medical mission trips to Kenya, among other volunteer work. Dr. Lilly has authored several journal articles and spoken on various health issues.

For her personal and professional work, Dr. Lilly has been awarded numerous honors. She was the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and national runner-up, 2016 Frist Humanitarian Award recipient. She was named a 2013 Union Leader Forty Under 40, the 2012 UNH Young Alumnae of the Year, and was a 2010 New Hampshire Magazine Top Doc reader’s choice recipient.

Dr. Lilly lives on campus with her husband, John, two children, Jack ‘21 and Maggie, and their dog, Felix. She enjoys being outdoors running, hiking or at the beach. She also loves to knit, read and practice yoga. Her family enjoys travelling. During their most recent trip, they backpacked around northern Italy.
