Baseball - V

Consistently in contention in the CNEPSBL, Big Red baseball has proven to be one of the premier programs in the region. The team plays against top competition from around New England and often sends student-athletes on to successful collegiate programs at the Division I and Division III levels. Big Red practices and plays on the Amos Alonzo Stagg baseball diamond, which is a top-tier grass facility on the Exeter campus. Each year, Big Red sends players to continue their playing careers at top NCAA programs throughout the country.

Trailing 7-2 in the 5th inning, Big Red put together two big rallies in the 6th and 7th to take the lead. Gabe Marcoux connected for the game winning RBI in the seventh. Beau Elson, Andrew Houghton and James Clavel teamed up on the bump to get the season opening win for Exeter.

Michael Chen threw four solid innings while Beau Elson and Andy Houghton carried the offense as they combined for six hits, five runs, and three RBI as Big Red picked up a 12-10 win over Berwick.

James Clavel scattered seven hits in a complete game effort but Austin Prep kept the Big Red offense at bay. Will Cooke, Beau Elson, and Dylan Shapiro each finished with a hit.

Michael Chen threw three scoreless in the middle of the game to anchor Big Red's pitching while Gabe Marcoux picked up a pair of RBI's for the offense.

Trailing by two, Big Red pushed across three runs in the bottom of the eighth to earn a 7-6 walk off win over Lawrence. Gabe Marcoux provided the game-winning base knock for Exeter. Nate Edin pitched five solid innings while Michael closed out the final three.

Game 1 Exeter - 3 Cushing - 2 Final Andy Houghton struck out 11 batters and limited Cushing to just one hit over five and two-thirds shutout innings to lift Big Red to a game one victory. Ben Martin led the offense with a pair of RBI. Game 2 Cushing - 7 Exeter - 1 Final Ben Martin picked up two hits, but the Cushing pitching kept the Big Red offense quiet in game two.

Malachi Johns '23 reached with a single in the seventh inning, stole second, and came home on a double to right field by Dylan Shapiro '23 to supply the lone run of the game.
