Harkness has revolutionized learning on Exeter’s campus since the 1930s. Today, more than 1,000 students enroll each academic year, and close to 800 attend a five-week summer session, giving them insights and practices they take back to their communities. Ongoing partnerships with public schools in the U.S., international schools and colleges are opening up opportunities for students in other geographic areas, and helping us define how Harkness methods can have meaningful impact in different environments.
We continuously develop our teaching methods to ensure their effectiveness in a changing world, and share techniques with teachers around the globe.
Teachers trained each year in intensive on-campus workshops
