ARTiculate
är-ˈti-kyə-ˌlāt

Verb:

  • to express an idea or feeling fluently and coherently
  • to give definition to something, such as a shape or object
  • to give shape or expression to something, such as a theme or concept

ARTiculate showcases the risk-taking inherent in creative discovery. Exeter students in ART 500 and ART 999 courses engage in an in-depth exploration of art materials and themes while developing their own body of work. Through experimentation, critique, research, self-direction, and many hours in the art studio, these students have explored themes important to them and created the comprehensive works that are part of ARTiculate

Come and witness their journey from ideas recorded in sketchbooks to the finished works featured in this exhibition. Exeter art instructors have followed the same guidelines as their students in these advanced courses and will also have work on view in this exhibition.
