Biography

Violinist Jodi Hagen received an Artist Diploma, Masters, and Bachelor Degree in violin performance at Boston University where she was a Director’s Award Student of Roman Totenberg.

Jodi won tenured positions with the Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Boston Ballet Orchestra, where she has often filled in as concertmaster. Jodi won a position with Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and is a regular member of the Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms Society Orchestra.

Jodi has been concertmaster of Boston Midsummer Opera since 2007, and for numerous Broadway shows and star attractions in Boston’s premier theaters. She performed with Emmanuel Music at Lincoln Center, throughout Europe, and has recorded for Koch International and Nonesuch.

Jodi appeared as soloist at Boston University, with the MIT Summer Orchestra, the Salem Philharmonic, and three times with the Harvard Summer School Orchestra. Ms. Hagen enjoys playing solo violin for the Emmy Award winning PBS TV series “American Experience.” Her solo playing is featured on the CD “Compendium” music by Boston composer Graham Gordon Ramsay on Albany Records.

As a member of Scandia Duo since 2007, Jodi has performed over 20 recitals throughout New England with world renowned organist Heinrich Christensen including world premieres and a commissioned work.

As a founding member of Trio Nordica since 2010, Jodi has performed many new works throughout the Boston area. Jodi is a violin faculty member at Phillips Exeter Academy and Phillips Andover Academy.
