For 240 years, Exeter's mission to unite goodness with knowledge has been sustained by the solidarity and support of its community. That legacy was further burnished this week as hundreds of donors lifted the school's annual day of giving to new heights.

Alumni, parents and friends of the Academy collectively donated nearly $2.5 million in support of The Exeter Fund during a 24-hour giving period that ended Wednesday morning.

This year's day of giving included a goal of 1,781 gifts — in honor of the school’s founding year — and a generous reward for reaching it within 24 hours: An additional $1.781 million gift from an anonymous group alumni and parents. That challenge was met by early Tuesday night. All told, the campaign amassed 2,456 gifts and raised $2,492,527.

The Exeter Fund provides the institution with vital, flexible-use resources that bolster the Academy in a variety of ways, from faculty salaries to world-class facilities to athletics and the arts.
