Soccer - Girls JV

Exeter girls soccer plays a highly competitive schedule against the top independent programs in the NEPSAC. During the season we work with our strength and conditioning coaches to complement our soccer-specific training. We train and play on a full size natural grass surface, and believe that focused training, teamwork, and spirit are the keys to our success. The Varsity and JV work together to provide a cohesive soccer program stressing technical and tactical development, conditioning, and continuous improvement.

Josie Giampa was the rock of the defense while Ali Benson and Willa Bazos provided the offense as Big Red captured their second straight victory to start the season. Joy Wei and Delia Reyes each provided assists on the day.

Goals from Delia Reyes and Elle Perry on either side of halftime led Big Red to a come from behind 2-1 victory. After a challenging first twenty minutes where Holderness took the lead, Exeter controlled the next sixty minutes creating multiple chances. Caitlin Murray’s and Sarah Sargent’s ball-winning in front of Hannah Love’s solid defense highlighted a total team effort. Kamara Wiliams and Julia Tilson provided the two assists.

Exeter fell behind after two first half goals by BB&N. Big Red rallied in the second half behind strong play by Brooke Raum and Ali Benson, but could not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Aubrey Silvestri made numerous key saves throughout the game.

A goal from Elle Perry and a screaming shot from Maeve Lucey helped Big Red overturn a 2-1 deficit in the second half before settling for a 3-3 tie. Hannah Love kept Governor’s dangerous attackers in check for much of the game and Willa Bezos and Josie Giampa both provided key assists.

With Natalie Jebralli pulling the strings in midfield and a strong defensive showing highlighted by the play Celia Dowling and Josie Giampa, Big Red got back into the win column 2-0. Maeve Lucey and Izzy Reyes provided the goals while Aubrey Silvestri and Elle Perry combined for a shutout in goal.

Goals from Izzy Reyes, Elle Perry, and Ryann Gholston carried Big Red to a 3-1 victory. Brooke Raum and Eveland Sherman controlled the midfield throughout with strong contributions by fullbacks Delia Reyes and Nora Stahl contributing to a comprehensive team effort.

Six different players scored including the first goals of the year for Kamara Williams, Maria Fotin, and Aubrey Silvestri as Big Red ran out to a 7-1 victory.

On a rainy afternoon in Concord, Big Red played St. Paul’s to a hard fought, scintillating 0-0 draw. Hannah Love, Rianna Skaggs, Celia Dowling, and Josie Giampa marshaled an excellent team defensive performance. Willa Banks, Ali Benson, Ale Murat, and Ryann Gholston all had great chances saved by St. Paul’s keeper. Aubrey Silvestri earned the shutout in net.

A spirited second half comeback cut a four goal deficit to two in the second half, but Big Red fell 7-3 at Middlesex. Ale Murat, Willa Bazos, and Izzy Reyes scored.

The tenacious Exeter defense, a breakaway goal from Elle Perry, and heroic goalkeeping from Ciara McNamara lifted Big Red to a 1-1 draw against a skilled Worcester team.
